Student Success: Pushing Boundaries, Raising Bars
March 22-24, 2012Seattle, WashingtonProposals Due August 2, 2011

Student Success: Pushing Boundaries, Raising Bars invites proposals that address work that has proven effective in advancing student success, including approaches that put achievement of essential learning outcomes for all students at the center of increased retention and graduation. Especially welcome are proposals that bring high-impact pedagogies and practices in line with big questions that prepare all students for the global, multifaceted, and scientifically challenging context in which they will live and work.
Proposals that emphasize cross-campus, multi-institution, and campus-community collaborations are encouraged. Finally, we invite proposals that describe policies and practices that support faculty innovation and leadership to strengthen students’ abilities to integrate, transfer, and apply their knowledge for the sake of their own lives and the common good.
We invite proposals on four key themes:
  • Defining 21st century student success
  • Designing and assessing high-impact practices
  • Supporting and rewarding faculty innovation for student achievement
  • Facilitating effective transitions from high school to two- and four-year colleges
