Tips on Handling Conflicts with Students
In a recent Chronicle article, David Perlmutter provides some advice on how to keep students from causing all sorts of difficulties. The advice includes suggestions such as "keep your word" and "accept that some problems can't be resolved." I agree that a few simple rules such as these can produce long-term benefits for faculty in dealing with students.
